Family Success Center Hosts Spring Fling

Project Sussex Kids, the Sussex County Council for Young Children, and The Sussex County Family Success Center recently teamed up to host a Spring Fling for hundreds of children and their parents at Project Self-Sufficiency’s Newton campus.  Participants were treated to crafts, dinner, an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, face-painting, games, and other activities courtesy of agency staff members and a host of community volunteers, including the Newton High School Interact Club and the Kittatinny High School cheerleaders. 

                     

“Providing safe, family-friendly activities is one of the goals of the Family Success Center, and we are very grateful for the efforts of the Family Success Center Parent Advisory Board and the volunteers from the Sussex County Council for Young Children who worked so hard to host this celebration for our participants and their families,” remarked Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. 

The Sussex County Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency is a program of support which includes parenting skills training, economic self-sufficiency services, family activities, legal education services, information about health and nutrition, referrals, advocacy and other services.  All activities are free and open to the public. Free Family Law Seminar this Month

Project Self-Sufficiency will sponsor a free seminar about issues related to Family Law on Wednesday, April 19^th, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the agency’s campus, located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.   The program will address child support, grounds for divorce, court procedures, custody, alimony, parenting time, equitable distribution of assets, and other topics related to divorce.  The presentation, which will be facilitated by Sussex County attorney Anne Gacquin, Esquire, is free and open to the public, but registration is required.  To register call Project Self-Sufficiency at 973-940-3500.

Free Seminar about Sales & Marketing Careers

A free seminar about sales and marketing careers will be offered to teens and adults on Tuesday, April 25^th, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Project Self-Sufficiency.   Rick Breakstone, Vice President of New Business Development at The Printing Center will be joined by Coldwell Banker Sales Associate Julie Killen and Sussex County Community College Director of Marketing and Public Information Kathleen Peterson for a discussion of the background, education and the skills necessary for success.  Questions from the audience will be welcome.  “Becoming You:  Sales and Marketing Careers” will explore vocations such as realtor, sales representative, new business development professional, marketing executive, public relations officer, and other professions.  The seminar is free and open to teens and adults, but registration is required.  Interested participants are encouraged to call 973-940-3500 or 844-807-3500 to register.  Project Self-Sufficiency is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.
